It brings together scientists, policymakers, RI directors and operators, funding organizations and industry to share best practices, align priorities, and help shape the future of the world’s most advanced facilities, services, and data ecosystems.

Programme themes

Theme 1 - Research Infrastructures as Drivers of Socio-Economic Impact

How can we measure and communicate the contributions of RIs to research and innovation, regional and global development, public services, workforce skills, and wider societal benefits? ICRI 2026 will explore approaches, indicators, and governance practices that support evidence-informed investment and long-term sustainability.

Theme 2 - Research Infrastructures as Instruments of Science Diplomacy

RIs enable international collaboration and provide shared platforms for global scientific responses. ICRI 2026 will discuss how infrastructures can foster openness, trust among nations, and mutually beneficial cooperation - especially in a complex geopolitical context.
