We are a permanent, distributed, integrated research infrastructure encompassing interlinked transnational scientific facilities and national nodes. ECCSEL offers open access to over 156+ world class research facilities across Europe organised under 8 thematic areas:
Our eight thematic areas are:
CCUS:
- CO2 Capture (fossil and industry processes)
- CO2 Transport and intermediate storage
- CO2 Storage (permanent)
- CO2 Utilisation
CDR
- BECC
- DACC
Subsurface use
- Geothermal energy research (focus on subsurface)
- Subsurface energy storage (H2, compressed air, heat) and CO2 storage as a feedstock
