Monitoring Electoral Democracy (MEDem)

Monitoring Electoral Democracy (MEDem) is a distributed European research infrastructure selected for inclusion in the ESFRI Roadmap 2026. It aims to advance comparative democracy research by connecting survey, text, multimedia, country and institutional data and developing standards and tools for their harmonization and linkage. This one-minute video introduces MEDem through the perspectives of researchers from its community. Their contributions highlight the opportunities that connected data and sustained collaboration offer for studying democratic processes across countries and time.
