Future Circular Collider

The Future Circular Collider (FCC) is CERN’s proposed next-generation research infrastructure, conceived as a new facility connected to CERN and designed to leverage the scientific, technical and organisational assets built up over more than 70 years. Its integrated programme could host at least two successive particle colliders, beginning with a electron-positron collider, creating a unique long-term platform for frontier physics, technology development and innovation. It’s injector provides unparalleled beams that can serve a community beyond fundamental science.

Anchored in Europe but global in scope, the FCC has the potential to bring together the worldwide particle-physics community while generating opportunities for research organisations and industry in advanced engineering, digital technologies, sustainable construction and manufacturing. In doing so, it would extend Europe’s scientific leadership and create value for science, industry and society well beyond the end of the 21st century.
